Welcome to…

theSpring has gone live, as of June 1st, 2020!

theSpring replaces the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS), which you may have grown accustomed to over the past number of years. In consultation with faculty and staff, we made the decision to move to theSpring (Brightspace by D2L) to take advantage of a more progressive user interface that affords a variety of features that will grow with Skidmore as we explore new teaching modalities.

Although the COVID-19 epidemic and the quick switch to remote learning rearranged some of our scheduling, we are currently working on preparing a range of training opportunities to help get faculty and staff up to speed! We will also be providing student resources regarding how to access and navigate the system from a computer or mobile device.

This is about a 45 minute recording with tips for using Brightspace for remote labs. (In my humble opinion, it’s a bit chatty through the 5 minute introduction, however, once you get through that, there is some good information on effective options for delivey of remote labs, and specific software applications.)

Teaching Movement and Arts Disciplines Online in a Time of Disruption
This is a 45 minute recording, which is pretty good. Be patient at the beginning, it takes it a few minutes to load.
