Getting Started!

Thank you for visiting the Skidmore LEDS 3D Maker Lab and your interest in printing. The first thing you’ll need to do before you begin printing any 3D objects is prepare the printer. Follow the procedures below, and don't hesitate to reach out to a member of the LEDS staff if you have questions or run into any problems.

  • Check the temperatures of the bed and tip before touching them
  • Do not remove printed object while the plate is still attached to the 3D printer
  • Avoid leaving the machine unattended ‚Äì this is especially true for the entire length of the first printed layer
  • Avoid printing without fully preheating both the bed and tip
  • Check predicted time on project before printing begins
  • Max print time = 2-2 1/2 hours.
